October

P got to go on his very first field trip this month. We went to a corn maze/fish hatchery in North Ogden that we have been to before, and he had a blast.
He almost didn't make it in this picture. I had to change G's diaper in the car real quick before they were ready to go in, and I had P right next to the car with me. I literally bent down to pick up G, and when I stood back up, P was nowhere to be found. I looked all through the other parents and couldn't find him, looked in the fish hatchery, and just as I was starting to freak out a little, I found him up the hill aways, by the fence. Sometimes I don't know what I am going to do with this boy.
( He is on the right side, top, second from right.)

Goofy smile...

(He couldn't be bothered with looking at my camera for 2.4 seconds, so I could get a good picture of him....Typical P. :))

Boy, oh boy did we get a surprise this year. My older sister has been married for 11 years, and has an eleven year old daughter. Us Tingey girls are generally broken in that our girl parts don't quite work the way they should. She and I are different. She tried to have another baby for a while after Tay was born, but gave up and was content with that. Then one day in April of 2010, she texted me to say she had gotten a positive pregnancy test that day. I was floored. I don't think you understand. She was the last person on earth I thought would have another baby. In fact, when I told Kacey about it, this is how our conversation went.....

Me: Guess who in my family is pregnant!
K: Lindsey!
Me: Nope.
K: Your mom??(who has had a hysterectomy.)

Yea.
We REALLY didn't think she would have anymore.
But she did, and so we had to throw her a shower!!
My camera was on the fritz this day, and for some reason I couldn't get a clear picture. I will have to try to find some pregnancy pictures of her from someone else.

(Cute Belly!!)

This was a fun game where I made all the guests drink out of bottles. It was hilarious!!!

One day P decided he wanted to drink out of a bottle just like G. It was cute.

Kirk G turned 60(gulp) this year. I still can't believe it.
And Pam put 60 balloons on their lawn for the occasion.
Happy Birthday!!!

August Days...and Preschool

August is one of my favorite months of the year. I love the carefree feeling August brings. Some of the activities we love to do in August include
Going fishing at Mantua reservoir every night after Daddy gets home from work. We always stay until sunset
Going to the park, and sometimes even walking there. Like to do it at least twice a week.
Go for walks every night, and don't have to worry about it being cold. We always end up at the same place....:)
Lagoon Days. Although, I prefer a rainy Lagoon day in October to be honest. No lines.

Look at that face. It just makes me melt.

Still can't believe they are mine. I am so blessed.

P likes fishing just a little bit

The family picture on the train at Lagoon has pretty much become tradition

P started Preschool at the end of August! He likes it, I think. Although he will never quite tell exactly what he does in school all day. I worry about him. If you have ever been around him a while, he is pretty wild and has a hard time focusing on things that bore him. But he seems to be doing okay, and his teachers haven't said anything yet.

Here are his two teachers. Mrs. Ellis(left) and Miss Dixie(right)

I am sure I have said this time and time again, but I don't know if P will ever be able to make a normal face while taking a picture. He just tries too hard, bless his heart.

Tay's Visit, and the big 4

***Back in June***
My older sister Heather just moved back to Utah...{Yay!!}
She has lived in the L.A. area for the last three years...
She had to stay in California for work a couple of weeks after they moved back, so my niece Taylor came and stayed with us!
Preston had a blast with her!
We rode the Frontrunner down to Salt Lake to get her
***
During her stay, we.......
***
Went swimming
***
Awesome "curly fry" {Is that what they call them nowadays??}
***
Went fishing...
***
Caught this frog by my house...Wierd!
***
Went fishing some more...
***
Hired my own personal butterfly catchers...
***

Then-
During her stay, Preston turned 4!!! I can't believe it! It makes me sad that he is growing up, but I am kind of excited to see who he becomes.
It was such a good day. We went to somewhere I haven't been in years and years, Chuck E Cheeses!! I LOVE IT!! I think I wanted to play the games and win the tickets more than P did! And the party followed....

Blowing out the candles
***
***
We had a fire truck party, and a pinata to match..
The kids loved it

I think that B-days should be done up BIG, because you just never know what is going to happen and how long everyone will be here. And also, why not??
We love you Preston, and are so glad you came to our family!!

Bittersweet

I love this time of year. I really do. It is just starting to get warm with lots of sunshine-y days. I love it. It is also a time when I do alot of thinking. As you know, my sister-in-law was doing a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society where you donate money and get bouqets of daffodils in return. She brought me my beauties yesterday and it couldn't have come at a more appropriate time. 13 years ago next week, my dear Grandma H passed away due to a malignant brain tumor. She passed away within 7 months of being diagnosed. It was a very hard time for my family, especially my mom. I still haven't gotten over it and I cry every time I think about her. I miss her so much, and I know my mom does too. :( I know it was her time to go, but I still wish she was here sometimes. It makes me sad thinking of all of the things she is missing out on.
It also makes me very grateful that me and everyone in my family are all healthy and going strong. And it makes me grateful that I get to wake up to these adorable faces every morning.....

How lucky am I??

Family Photos

A couple of weeks ago, we had our pictures taken by a good friend of ours ( and my sisters sister-in-law) Rylee. She did a wonderful job and we were so excited to see the final product.... It was FREEZING that day and it was a little hard to get Preston to pose, but they still turned out great!! And there was a ton to choose from, this is only a smidgen. I am going to have her take some more in the summer of Preston and Gunner individually......... :)
This is her photo blog/website.
Go check her out. Now!
Thanks Rylee!!

Preston, oh Preston.....

Whoever coined the term "the terrible twos" must have never had a three-year old. Particularly MY three-year old. Who was an angel when he was two compared to now! We had quite the day yesterday to say the least.... it went something like this:
My Mom is a teacher so she has this week off, and her hubby is out-of-town visiting family, so we decided to hang out yesterday and go shopping.
Usually it isn't a big deal besides the fact that we have to constantly remind Preston to stay with us or he will get stolen....
But usually it is my sister and me.
So yesterday, we went to the mall, ate some lunch, and started to shop.
I had to stop at Motherhood for a minute to feed G man.
Preston was being crazy as usual, opening the curtain constantly, grabbing clothes off the rack to show me, finding random pieces of hardware such as S hooks or nails....
You know, the usual.
Then we went to American Eagle, where he continued his antics.
No big deal.
Then we went to Vanity so I could try on some pants.
That is where we went wrong.
No one can truly understand the magnitude of Preston's energy and sticky hands until you are stuck to watch him for 30 minutes or more, by yourself.
And my poor Mom, bless her heart, had the job of watching the two kids while I tried on pants.
Gunner didn't do much, besides lay there and look adorable.
Preston on the other hand, was into everything imaginable. Sunglasses, necklaces, shoes, underwear, you name it.
He is a very sneaky little boy. He seems harmless enough, just trying on things with his bright blue eyes.
So I come out one time and see him dripping in necklaces and jewelry and decide to take him in the dressing room with me.
Then the worst that could happen is my sexy underwear be flashed to whoever is sitting outside my dressing room, for a brief second.
I find my pants, and we head out of the mall through Sears and walk over to Ross.
We get done at Ross, and by this time it is time for G man to eat, so I am hurrying to get both kids in the car and the bags while my mom hurries and pays for her things at Ross.
And it is snowing and getting cold.
I lift G man's carseat off of the stroller.
And find two clutches.
From Vanity.
That I did not purchase.
That were not cute.
Somehow, in the time I tried on two pairs of pants or went out to get a different size, Preston had managed to stick them under the carseat without my mom or me or anyone else noticing.
And Gunner is screaming by this point.
So my mom gets to the car and we go.
I figure I will take them back another day without a screaming baby.
So the whole way home I am telling Preston that he needs to tell Daddy what he did when we get home.
He is freaking out.
He won't tell Kacey the truth, he blames it on Grandma.
Kacey thinks it is kind of funny.
So Kacey takes him back to the store to give back the clutches.
Preston then kindly shows Kacey where he got them from in the store, and then asks if they are going to buy them.
They give them to the girl working there and tell her what happened, and Preston reluctantly says Sorry.
The girl says thanks. And doesn't really care.
Isn't that lovely.
