Uncle Gordy

I didn't know him anymore. I hadn't seen him in years. Ever since my Grandma died, he had disappeared off the face of the earth, with only an occasional spotting of his Bronco around town. And yet, when his life was taken in a horrific car accident, my heart was sad. I was disturbed about the way he had died. No one should pass away like this.I felt like he was all alone. I was sad that I didn't get to know him. That I never really knew all of the things he had been through in his life. That he never really tried to know his family, children, or grandchildren. I felt like he was robbed. He never got to know how great his kids are. And they really are. I never got to know his kids very well, but even with the very limited time I have spent with them, I love them. They are such incredible people. I feel proud to call them my cousins. And he didn't see that here on earth. It makes me sad. Would he have turned his life around and tried to be a father, had he not died? I don't know. Sadly, I doubt it. But it still makes me sad.

August Days...and Preschool

August is one of my favorite months of the year. I love the carefree feeling August brings. Some of the activities we love to do in August include
Going fishing at Mantua reservoir every night after Daddy gets home from work. We always stay until sunset
Going to the park, and sometimes even walking there. Like to do it at least twice a week.
Go for walks every night, and don't have to worry about it being cold. We always end up at the same place....:)
Lagoon Days. Although, I prefer a rainy Lagoon day in October to be honest. No lines.

Look at that face. It just makes me melt.

Still can't believe they are mine. I am so blessed.

P likes fishing just a little bit

The family picture on the train at Lagoon has pretty much become tradition

P started Preschool at the end of August! He likes it, I think. Although he will never quite tell exactly what he does in school all day. I worry about him. If you have ever been around him a while, he is pretty wild and has a hard time focusing on things that bore him. But he seems to be doing okay, and his teachers haven't said anything yet.

Here are his two teachers. Mrs. Ellis(left) and Miss Dixie(right)

I am sure I have said this time and time again, but I don't know if P will ever be able to make a normal face while taking a picture. He just tries too hard, bless his heart.

24th of July

For the 24th of July, we finally did something with ourselves! We went camping, and had an absolute blast! I may be biased, but I am pretty sure my family is THE FUNNEST to hang out with in the world. Period. Anyway, on with it.....

This little girl is the "she-devil." I only call her that because, well, she is. She was ordering Preston around the whole time camping, and he did whatever she said. Usually what she said was completely against whatever I said, however.

This is the snake that intrigued Preston to begin with...

Playing in the fire, as usual.

Lindsey and cute Gunner. I love him. Oh, and her too...

I loved these giant marshmallows! They were SO good roasted

Lindsey, Kacey and I stayed up for a late night card game...
We had fun.
Linds and I get a little loopy at night, can you tell?? :)

She is going to KILL me for putting these pictures on here!

We had lots of fun, and I wanted to stay there. The end.

Independence Day

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays.
We have started traditions that we do every year now.
And I LOVE traditions!!

I really really {love} this picture of my P.
This year we were able to help Great Grandpa & Grandma S with a float they wanted to do, and P got to ride on the float for a bit.
I love our family.
They are the best!

Here he is waiting for the ride to begin

Grandpa B wanted to push G. And P wanted to ride with Grandma B

This airplane drops candy, and is driven by my (2nd?) cousin
A lot of fun!
And this night we went and watched the fireworks in our {secret spot} and finished off the night at Grandma B's.
And as a bonus, we went on the following Monday and watched the Brigham fireworks with some friends of ours who live in the perfect spot for it. Thanks Riley and Jess!!

Tay's Visit, and the big 4

***Back in June***
My older sister Heather just moved back to Utah...{Yay!!}
She has lived in the L.A. area for the last three years...
She had to stay in California for work a couple of weeks after they moved back, so my niece Taylor came and stayed with us!
Preston had a blast with her!
We rode the Frontrunner down to Salt Lake to get her
***
During her stay, we.......
***
Went swimming
***
Awesome "curly fry" {Is that what they call them nowadays??}
***
Went fishing...
***
Caught this frog by my house...Wierd!
***
Went fishing some more...
***
Hired my own personal butterfly catchers...
***

Then-
During her stay, Preston turned 4!!! I can't believe it! It makes me sad that he is growing up, but I am kind of excited to see who he becomes.
It was such a good day. We went to somewhere I haven't been in years and years, Chuck E Cheeses!! I LOVE IT!! I think I wanted to play the games and win the tickets more than P did! And the party followed....

Blowing out the candles

***
We had a fire truck party, and a pinata to match..
The kids loved it

I think that B-days should be done up BIG, because you just never know what is going to happen and how long everyone will be here. And also, why not??
We love you Preston, and are so glad you came to our family!!

Oh, my, what a crazy busy last few months it has been!!

I am doing summer school and have a pretty hard class
***
Preston still likes to "help" me around the house all day long
***
Gunner still needs to be fed and changed several times a day
***
All this = no time to blog.
***
Here is what we have been up to the last little while in a nut shell....

Let's see. What else......Oh, we are selling our condo. I have really loved it, but we have a child who NEEDS a yard with a fence to play in. So if you know anyone in the Ogden area who wants a large condo, have them check out our ad.......

We are attempting to sell it ourselves. I have a really hard time swallowing paying someone 4 grand to put it on a website. If anyone has any advice, do tell.......We will see.........

SIX years people!!

As of today we have had SIX years of wedded bliss!!
